東郡趨庭日，
南樓縱目初。
浮雲連海岱，
平野入青徐。
孤嶂秦碑在，
荒城魯殿餘。
從來多古意，
臨眺獨躊躇。

I'm in this eastern province
to pay respects to my parents

first chance I've had to see 
the view from this south tower

floating clouds make a bridge 
from Mount Tai to the ocean

on the huge plain, old territories
scene of ancient dynasties

a tyrant had his monument
up on that lonely peak

and a prince's ruined palace
stood in that distant city 

I love the past 
I always have

the othres climb back down
I linger on up here.
